A Quick Thought for the Day
"Liberals" are supposed to be hip, cool, benevolent people -- open-minded people, philanthropical people, cosmopolitan people, non-judgmental people who love everybody, tolerate everybody, and try to understand what it's like to walk a mile in everybody's shoes. Yes, even if they can't precisely know where the shoe pinches everybody's foot.
That is all well and good, but after a while this began to work a strain upon their liberal human nature. Finally, the "liberals" couldn't take it any more, and so they invented political correctness.
That was a huge relief for them, because it was now possible for them to split their personalities, and be assholes again! ;)
I guess that means they can run on two different tracks, and make the world better and worse at the same time, which cancels out to staying just the same. But stasis is not progression -- so why on earth do they call themselves "progressives"?

Conservatives invented "political correctness" as a new, hip codeword for "good racism".

Hitler was a socialist.
Modern liberals have more in common with Hitler than any open-minded humanitarian cause.
They have become the worst hypocrites too.
When Bush was waging war in Iraq, they called him a hate monger and a war monger.
When Bush signed the Patriot act, they called him a fascist.
When Obama re signed the patriot act, none of them made a peep.
When Obama started a war in Libya, none of them made a peep.
I guess it is okay when one of their own does those sorts of things.
Hypocrites.
'Conservatives' popularized "political correctness" as terminology. But the actual THING (as opposed to the word) is a child of the political left without a doubt.
It's a fairly broad umbrella, which covers such matters as speech codes, identity politics, feminism, postmodernism, and "deconstructionism".
Or at least, that is the melange which the average Joe or Jane is vaguely referring to. . .
Some have taken to calling it cultural Marxism.
It is plain to me that despite the various regime changes, it is always the same people in power -- whether it be "democratic" "republican", "liberal" or "conservative", puppets which they are using for a front.
I have long since ceased taking most political categories seriously, although "left" and "right" still have value as a conceptual lens for studying history.
Despite what anybody says, we are drifting steadily toward "socialism" of a kind. Of a corporate fascist kind, to be more exact.

Aye-yi-yi! Where is a statekraft meister like BISMARCK when we need him...? Somebody who understands balance of power, has nerves of steel, a shrewd, clearly formulated policy, and knows when to call it quits and turn to other matters....

Because, in their own minds, they are "conserving" . . something-or-other.
Which doesn't rule out being a complete wastrel with something else.

But there's no actual thing there. When "liberals" act like hypocritical, self-important douchebags, as they so often do, call them hypocritical, self-important douchebags. There's no need for Orwellian, conspiratorial codewords.

Truthfully, the average Joe or Jane doesn't have the slightest clue what they mean by it, not even vaguely. It's just a handy codeword to pull out when their words (rightly or wrongly) are called into question.

"Liberal": You know, I hate war, but I understand the humanitarian concerns involved and we do need to help those poor people and...
"Conservative": Well I guess it's ok with me, as long as we get to kill more Islamofascist towelheads! We still haven't gotten enough revenge for 9/11! You don't fuck with America! And have you heard how they treat their women? REAL MEN would never treat women that way! Soon Muslims will take over Europe and institute Sharia law and rape millions of white women in broad daylight! We'll bomb those towelhead sand niggers back to the stone age! White power!
"Liberal": Well, I'm a bit offended by the term towelhead. That's just racist.
But I agree with you that humanitarian intervention had to be made and it is true they treat women terribly there. There is misogyny inherent in Islam as with Christianity and other patriarchal religions. We always must try to aid women and children across the globe because...
"Conservative": Wait, what?! I can say whatever I want about America's enemies! After 9/11, they deserve it. You're just being politically correct! Political Correctness is the downfall of America! It's part of the Liberal-Socialist-Muslim-Chinese-Mexican-Gay-Catholic-Jew plot!

"Liberal": Have you heard about the recent tragedies in Japan? I really have mixed feelings at this moment, considering Japan's horrible whaling industry, but maybe we should all make a small donation...
"Conservative": Haha, I love seeing those crazy Japs suffer! Don't you remember Pearl Harbor??? They deserved it! Hiroshima didn't go far enough!!! And what about the tentacle rape porn I heard about on the news?
"Liberal": Well, I wouldn't go that far. You're being a tad racist there.
But yes, Japan is a patriarchal society and they haven't fully embraced feminism there. So I really have mixed feelings but I really need to make a donation to feel good about myself so...
"Conservative": Racist?! You're just being politically correct! It's all part of the plot to bring down this country with your Liberal-Socialist-Muslim-Chinese-Mexican-Gay-Catholic-Jew politically correct agenda and..."

Their hypocritical, self-important douchebaggery is the product of a discernable, underlying mechanism, as I would put it. They get away with this so hugely, because they have mastered a certain mental "enabling trick" which permits them to operate with that double-track mind I mentioned.

Funny how Bismarck has been demonized by both Right and Left in the West. Perhaps this is his most subtle achievement.
I hate liberals as a group. They have the nerve to think they understand my wants and needs as an androgynous bisexual. Nevermind that I lean towards conservative politics with strong dashes of libertarianism am I am not some oppressed minority. Some people are just dickheads and I have learned to deal with it. I fail to see how a big government is supposed to help me anyway.

I'm always amused when I read "discussions" of liberals vs conservatives with one group calling the other names like "hypocrite" or "hate-monger." Both are each. The difference is that they each hate different people. both will whine and complain when a leader of the oppsotie view does something they disagree with and remain silent or even be supportive when the same action is done by a leader of their own view.
Both believe in big government, just that it should function differently. Conservatives believe in a police state in order to protect women and fight wars on organized crime, communism, and drugs. They only claim to believe in smaller government in order to eliminate social welfare programs and taxes on the rich. they support anything that funnels money to the rich and think that it will "trickle down" to the poor. Conservatives aren't very concerned with things like racism or sexiam and even when they are, they tend to believe that government shouldn't get involved in what they consider to be "private life." Liberals view this attitude as racist and sexist and consider it "hateful." Conservatives believe in what they call traditional values that include the idea that people should look out for themselves first and society will take care of itself.
Liberals believe in big government that taxes the rich and redistribuetes wealth to the poor. They also believe in a police state to enforce protection of women and minorities and although in the past believed in a smaller military, today, they seem to believe military action is ok when conducted for the purpose of spreading feminism or to free "oppressed peoples." Liberals think government should fight racism and sexism and it should take corrective action to do so. Conservatives view this a anti-white and anti-male and consider it "hateful." Liberals tend to believe that individuals should look out for society first and that this will ensure they are taken care of. This makes them appear to be more compassionate than conservatives, but it is mostly just smoke and mirrors.
Conservatives are more or less everything foul thing that liberals say they are and liberals are more or less every foul thing that conservatives say they are, but neither believes it. However, whenever I see the bickering and name-calling that goes back and forth between them, I know they are both right about each other and that makes them both wrong.

Good racism,huh? Well, personally, I'm neither conservative nor republican, but the phrase "good racism" calls to mind something a senator from Nevada once said about Negro dialects.
As for political correctness, I believe Fidelbogen isn't referring to not calling semitic peoples "towelheads" but more along the lines of Lawrence Summers not being allowed to say, with scientific proof to back it up, that men tend to do better in math and science and have higher IQ's on average,because it hurts people's feelings.
The same studies say that Asians do even better than whites in these respects. I'm white and facts are facts, if these are the facts, then you won't see me crying over them. I certainly wouldn't be asking anyone to resign over citations of these facts.
Political correctness, as I understand the term, is an ancient idea that used to be known as "shooting the messenger". Well, I value knowledge over feelings, and prefer to receive prompt and factual messages. Needless to say, I've never felt the need to shoot someone for bringing me bad news.
