Sit back and savor this lovely YouTube video. It looks like I was at least a little bit wrong; things haven't changed so much since the Bobbitt case after all. Well, all right, the response is more muted in general -- but the same attitude is present, simmering a very short distance below the surface.
While you are watching the video and enjoying the jolly, clever, scintillating banter of these women, do bear in mind that these are NOT radical feminist weirdos -- they are bright, (superficially) attractive regular gals from the middleclass mainstream. So, for the sake of calibration, I'd also like to hear what the radical feminist weirdos are saying.
Anyhow, having witnessed this, I could not in good faith and good conscience object to the proceedings if some dudes on a talk show acted similarly about a story where a man did a kitchen knife cliterodectomy on his wife.
It's all about symmetry and proportionality. If such be permitted for the goose, it is permissible for the gander. At least in theory.

I understand the anger here, I understand the outrage.
I understand the desire to put a rabid dog out of its misery and everybody elses.
However; I have been told that any form of reciprocity would be "cowering to their level", and would "do more harm than good".

I would never personally advocate doing any such thing.
But if somebody actually tried that acid trick, I would not express any sympathy for the women . . . because I would not feel any.
Mind you, I would not gloat and hurrah about the episode. Not a bit.
But I would be absolutely cold and indifferent, and I would quietly inform the world that such things are predictable.
And I would remind everybody to think about the political context in which the episode occurred.

I'll be absolutely honest.
When I saw that clip of The Talk,and I heard Sharon Osbourne say she thought the genital mutilation was "fabulous", I pictured myself leaping over the desk, grabbing the bitch in the middle by the throat,the one who had so much sympathy for this 60 year old elderly man in the "HAW-SPITtaaaalllll",tasering her until she could only twitch on the floor and removing her clitoris with a butcher knife, while asking the stunned Sharon "How about this? How fabulous is this shit,bitch?".
But,of course, that would be "different".
As much as I might want to do this,as much as every fiber of my moral being screams that this would be justice,and my heart tells me that blood calls out for blood,degradation for degradation,I'm not going to do it.
I would encourage every man to put his resolve to improve things for men to the test. Don't do it.
Violence, in this situation,would only make matters worse for all of us.
Just wait, look for your opportunities to seek justice lawfully and non-violently and then follow through with action.

There is a similar show to "The View" on British tv. It's called "Loose Women" & makes The View look high brow in comparison. But...is it not true that these women are permitted, even encouraged, to joke about genital mutilation & engage in casual misandry because their views are not taken seriously?
The harm to men is not, as it may seem, that men are being degraded, disrespected, ridiculed, etc., but that the women, by entertaining these views, are degrading themselves & driving men away from them as a result.
What man would be interested in anyone, man or woman, who held such transparently pathetic views? With these laughable shows, women are harming themselves far more than they're harming men.

I hate to say it, but one dimly suspects something of a systems-level dysfunction in the female psyche as a whole. While not suggesting that the majority of women would react as did the panelists on this program, i AM suggesting that a non-trivial percentage of the female population would indeed react in such a manner. It's something to think about, for it portends trouble.)

Women laughing at violence doesn't make it okay for men to do the same. Our whole argument is that it's wrong, sick and disgusting--regardless of who does it.

I'm a woman whose marriage was almost destroyed by me listening to feminist voices in books and in person. I agree that the thought of laughing at mutilation of males is sick. Laughing at mutilation of anyone is sick. I have 2 boys and I LOVE the fact that they are BOYS! I love men and I love being DIFFERENT from my husband and my boys! I delight in being a woman, and there is absolutely no reason for me to try to dominate or be like a man. Since I gave all that nonsense up and starting acting like a female that NEEDS a male around, my marriage is a LOT HAPPIER, and a LOT MORE INTIMATE.
I'm sorry that you have to endure the endless de-masculinasation that takes place in tv sitcoms, etc. It makes me cringe. I know how wonderful males are, and I truly am sorry that our current culture seems to try to make every male/dad look like an idiot.

Male-bashing in the media (sitcoms et al) is really just half of the machine. The other half is actual political damage and violence against men, in the form of anti-male laws and policies.
There is a cyclical pattern to this. First, denigration in the media gradually instills a social mentality which sanctions anti-male bigotry in all of its forms. Then, having acccomplished that much, it becomes proportionally easier to spread progressively worse lies about males, and proportionally harder to speak up against such things (because "everybody knows" that men are pigs,jackasses,etc.).
Then, when the feminists propose their next round of anti-male legislation, it is easier to stampede politicians and the general public into swallowing this.
As a consequence, life becomes generally more toxic for men, at which point men actually do start acting worse, which fuels another round of "justified" male-bashing and feeds the feminist spin mill. Further anti-male measures become "thinkable", and are accordingly passed, and the cycle starts over again.
Each stage in the cycle paves the way for the next.
On and on it spirals, like a spiral circling a drain -- which is where we are headed, in my opinion, if somebody doesn't raise some bloody hell about all of this.
