What It All Boils Down To

"Do you, as a feminist, recognise the right to existence of people who are not feminists?"

I have shamelessly stolen this from Snark, who recently posted it on his blog. Occasionally I will do somebody the honor of stealing from them. This is one of those occasions; yes, it is that good. Such economy, such concision:

Really now, we wouldn't go far wrong to make our rhetoric revolve around this above all, and very little more. The saying is deceptively simple, for it goes deep and reaches into many corners.

It puts them on the spot, and nails them there.

Dude, where in the definition of feminism - "social, economical and political equality" you read "death to people who do not define themselves as feminists"?

You do realise that with comments like that you present MRA's as pompous bufoons who are so ignorant that they do not even have idea what the idea they criticise (complain) is about?

Also, I have hundreds of examples from people who participate in MRA's comments discussions who actively talk about murder and violence towards people who do no agree with them but you are accusing feminism in this?
What the fuck is wrong with you people?

@eneya: Where in the Snark quote do you read the word "death"?

That said, I do not "present MRAs" in any way at all -- the quote makes no reference to that particular coterie.

Finally, you must realize that the non-feminist sector covers a HUGE, ENORMOUS slice of the human race, and when you make a statement such as "what the fuck is wrong with you people" you are biting off way more than you can chew.

I, for one, cannot speak for those countless millions.
