Toxic Anti-Male Bigotry at Simon Fraser University

It seems that Simon Fraser University in BC, Canada, will be establishing a "men's centre" on campus. Well, the local feminists have gone ballistic about this. But so far, our side appears to be winning. Just today (or maybe it was yesterday) a highly sympathetic article appeared in the Canadian "National Post" online publication. Snippet follows:
"Men, too, join in the criticism of the proposed Centre, one curiously warning that it may “become a highly masculinized space.” Another cautions that the project risks creating a “heteronormative space,” while yet another critical male dismisses the Men’s Centre as simply, “a room with a PS3 and a bunch of douchebags playing games.”
"Bravo, students. . . . . you have effectively demonstrated why such a space is so very necessary.  At present, there is only one other Canadian campus with an official support centre for men — the Men’s Resource Centre at the University of Manitoba. Judging by the crass sociology catch phrases in the aforementioned video, the consensus is that young men don’t need community resources or support."
You know, the douchebag who made the "douchebags" remark quoted above, ought to volunteer for some Maoist self-criticism sessions, don't you think so? (Seriously, that shit sounds like David Futrelle in the early days of his blog, before he wised up and learned to mask his attitude more effectively.)

Note the stunning deluge of down votes and down-comments on that video, and add your own if you feel so inclined. I'll betcha the little twits who posted the video never even knew what hit 'em!

Wow, can't believe they feel it's necessary to add 'and not encourage sexual assault'. How many young women are being converted by older feminists spreading ideas like that, e.g That sexual assault is a natural progession from any form of united masculinity, such as the mens centre.

Fucking muppets.

Lol. Yeah, the last thing we want is a apace for guys to be straight in.They might look at girlie magazines or tell jokes or something and then the entire planet would just burst into flames or crack up into pieces or something like that.

I'm afraid that in the future, as things develop, they'll be looking for a trumped up way to "prove" such claims.

And we have already seen how they operate.

All it would take would be some highly publicized episode or incident, and they'll have just the pretext they need to spin, smear and distort ALL pro-male politics in any form.

Example: some serial rapist or other unsavory character, with a diary full of "MRA" rhetoric, and a connection to one of those men's centers.

That is all it would take, and that is just how the feminists would launch their smear campaign. They will not hesitate to exploit such opportunities for all they are worth.

We should anticipate such possibilities well ahead of time, and discuss them publicly as a way of immunizing ourselves. If we vocally predict these things, it will tend to put the other side on their best behavior for fear that they'll seem to doing exactly what we said they would do.

All right: As a warning to the other side (I know you're reading this):

What goes around comes around, and whatever you dish out, can be dished back unto you!

So don't do anything stupid.

Let's face it. Heterosexuality is. . .well. . in fact, the norm.

So color me heteronormative. And -centrist. That too!

It speaks tons about the mental folly of the present age, that such a word as "heteronormative" could ever gain so much traction and so much attention share.

if they have one of these in the US, why don't they talk about dismantling Selective Service?

I saw that piece about SFU. (I'm up in Canada, of course.)

I'm not sure whether I want to see this 'male space' come about, as I'd really prefer that neither the women's centre nor the men's centre existed, in an ideal world.

That said, we need to make feminism choke on its internal contradictions, so it probably should be supported for that reason alone, if nothing else. Because you can be sure that if it is established, eventually someone will seek to ban both, as a way to get rid of the men's one.

Well, there's more than one road leading to Rome, as we say. And. . . whatever works, works! ;)

Your presence here reminds me of a project that we spoke of earlier. I feel a bit guilty for my procrastination, but I have not forgotten. . .

I was wondering about that. But I didn't want to pressure you, and I still don't; whenever you're ready...
