A Big Hullabaloo Down Under!

Our very own Dr. Greg Canning (at AVfM) has resigned his academic post at James Cook University under quite dramatic circumstances. The following is from the Melbourne Herald-Sun:
"JCU School of Medicine adjunct senior lecturer Dr Greg Canning has quit his teaching job of 10 years, claiming the university failed to caution Adjunct Associate Professor Betty McLellan, who he has accused of publicly practicing sexual vilification.
"Dr McLellan, from the School of Arts and Social Sciences, is a feminist ethicist and psychotherapist, with more than 20 years experience. She has written several books, and regularly contributes opinion pieces to radical feminism websites such as the Coalition for a Feminist Agenda.
"Dr Canning, who is a men's health advocate, said he took great offence to some of Dr McLellan's writings. An opinion piece, written by Dr McLellan on website Radfem Hub titled 'The Question on Nobody's Lips', states "even with all the evidence we have that something's not quite right with the male of the species, there is still impenetrable resistance to focusing on men's behaviour and asking: what is it about men?"
"Dr Canning, who also works as a skin cancer specialist, said the article clearly painted all men as violent or sexual predators."
Indeed. . . Spiritual Violence Against Men, a.k.a. MISANDRY, is a very real part of the world, and it seeps everywhere in the cultural soil like the outflow from an overfilled septic tank. All right, read the entire Herald-Sun article, below. Dr. Canning would like you to leave a comment, too, if you have time:

Oh... and he tells me that he might get on local TV, there in Australia, to give his side of the story. Any way you cut it, this is making some waves. So, do spread the word!

Notice that Ms. McLellan has been a contributor to the Radfem Hub website. Remember that one? It's the home of the infamous private forum from which the Agent Orange files were gathered. So yes, Ms. McLellan, the "feminist ethicist", is mixed up with a mighty pungent crowd there -- wouldn't you say?  Note also that McLellan is a psychotherapist.  Gads! Can you IMAGINE going to her if you wanted to "sort your stuff out"?? Personally, I think it's an abomination that such a one as Betty McLellan is even licensed in that field.

Is there any professional review board to which somebody could report her? I would love to know, but I'm afraid I know the answer already. And that is, that reporting would have no effect at all because the group is already packed with people like her anyway.

Now go and download the Agent Orange files if you've never done so:

Hags have been with us from the beginning of time. Old, bitter, ugly women who glory in gossiping and making trouble for others - essentially venting spleen for not being being born attractive, or losing whatever desirability they may have had briefly in their youth.

Once we knew them for what they were and ignored them. Now they have burrowed their way into the universities, where they have made themselves comfortable - like so many apple worms at the heart of the fruit.

What is so incredible is how many of us tolerate them there, and haven't exiled them back into the wastelands where they belong. University administrations are no recommendation for whatever it is they pretend to sell.

If Mr. Canning said about women what Ms. McLellan said about men, there would be a lynch mob of feminists and women's groups demanding his resignation. And then the university would have terminated him immediately.

This is what needs to be done. Despite all the corporate moneymaking, a university *is* its faculty. Learned men need to withdraw their imprimatur from those institutions that tolerate this sort of thing.

The day is coming when a degree will be worthless, because there is nothing backing it.

I have to be honest here, it doesn't seem like a very strong move to leave. She needs to leave, or at least be recognized for her behavior. If he just throws his arms up in disgust and walks out, it's as though she has won. She still has a voice, access etc. in the university. I don't think it's what male non-feminist academics need to do because they're just leaving the field and also the students. Could he not have countered her by speaking up, let them ask him to leave, and fight it? This way, where's the struggle? It doesn't from here look like a win.

I don't know if it's a win, or a loss. But certainly it is newsworthy.

I make assumption he's no slouch or wouldn't be where he is. But it is a little scary, feminists seem to have anchored themselves in academia like a well thought out move in chess.

Thanks for the heads up though Fidelbogen... I notice over there at radfemhub they're abuzz over it.

Hey, I haven't been to RadFem in ages. Got a link to the 'buzz' in question?

It's, mentioned buzz is front and center on home page. Don't go there if you're feeling even the least bit nauseous.

I just read her article and posted a comment on the Hearld-Sun.
Just take what she has writen and replace the word "men" with the word "jews" and then ask yourself if this is acceptable material from someone who teaches young people.
It is absolute hatred of men. This ideology is not just some radicals views. It is a pernicious ideology and does a huge amount of damage to children and men.
