Speaking of extinct varmints(like wooly mammoths), did you see:
http://www.manboobz.com/2013/02/04/fidelbogens-sonnets-for-the-portugese/
"Underneath all the verbosity his ideas are trite and simplistic. And yet he seems convinced that he's a great genius; one of those writers who thinks he's great."
That's projection if I've ever heard it! LOL
I agree, it's projection. His problem is, he simply doesn't want to hear what he doesn't want to hear. Ergo, it is "trite and simplistic".
Also, the charge of verbosity is. . well. . unfounded. Quite frankly. ;)
Conclusion: somehow he feels jabbed, and so he is jabbing back.
Hey, I just went there, and I got a "404 page not found".
Was gibt hier?

LOL---I misspelled 'Portuguese' in the link...please forgive me!
A woman is whining because her daughter's husband has taken her children away from her, and is requesting people to please help her.
I pointed out that TENS OF MILLIONS of MEN have had their children kidnapped by women, and the women REFUSED to help the men. So why should we help you women? And the reaction? The usual male-shaming language and man-hating feminist bullshit. How surprising.

@Eric:
Futrelle simply cannot fathom why anybody would want to take on such a translation project. According to him, it can only be for "some perverse reason". And when you look into the comment thread, the readers have ideas that are even more flaky. Why, some of them even appear to think the translation was done by a machine. . or something.
Imagine their dismay when further translations of pro-male material, in more languages than just Portuguese, start popping up all over the landscape.
One thing is for sure: these people know very, very little about US, what we are actually doing, and why we are doing it. They are like arrogant colonialists who cannot understand why "the natives are restless."
We can and should take advantage of their ignorance. It will cost them.
I watched the movie 'Anna Karenina' the other night. Its about the aristocrats in late-19th-century Russia high-society.
The words, "Men and husbands run society" was used to explain how everything evolved around men's way of doing things and Anna committed suicide in the end because society didn't accept a woman having affairs or women keeping children or women this and women that. Everything was plastic yet women were meaner than men in some respects cause their identity was based on their position in society.
...........
If you consider equal wage gave feminisms its power, (1970) and feminists then moved into women having more jobs than 3 being secretarial work, nursing and teaching (social work didn't need a degree back then)..... you (I) get the idea it wasn't about men in the house (though Christianity turned into some kind of man is boss) but about society. Just a thought :)

Futrelle also might be jealous because his own attempt to spread feminism on al-Jazeera ended up making him a laughing-stock.
I agree; their cultural ignorance will be their downfall. I understand, BTW, that feminism is very much on the defensive in Portuguese-speaking countries.
@Anon: Tolstoy reads well in the original Russian! :)
