Was he the first to relate that parable or just the first to put in a poem like that? Incidentally that strategy is something women, feminists or not, just naturally seem to do, sticking together, with other women, even when there's no need or cause, or it's in the wrong.
No, that story of the sticks and the bundle is ancient lore handed down from the Romans. It's an old standard.
The real "parable", in this case, includes the entire poem.
